If you’ve been getting any of these codes on your Sony PlayStation 4 or 5 console, here are a few helpful fixes you can try to solve the issue:

Clear Your Cache and Rebuild Your Database

Console files can end up corrupted at times and these can result in error codes. A game’s cache files are files meant to improve the players’ overall gaming experience. But you also need to get rid of these temporary cache files to eliminate unwanted error codes. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Switch off your console and disconnect its power cord.
  2. Wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Connect the cord then hold the power button for 10 seconds.
  4. Stop pressing the power button during the 8-second mark when the second beep is heard.

After these steps, the cache files on your console will be cleared. Your console should boot up in safe mode and you can proceed to rebuilding your database.

  1. Press and hold the power button on your console’s controller and switch it off.
  2. Wait for your console to completely shut down.
  3. Wait for 10 to 20 seconds.
  4. Restart your console. Click OK from the options that show up on the screen to proceed with rebuilding your database.

Reinstall the Game

If the error code CE-34878-0 or CE-108255-1 only shows up in a particular game, the game files have likely been corrupted which prevents the system from launching the game.

Some PS4 and PS5 users reported that they were able to fix the issue after they uninstalled the game and installed it again from scratch.

Restart the Console

For most error codes, the solution is as simple as restarting the console itself. A quick reboot of your device can get rid of any temporary interference that makes your game crash. Simply press the power button on your console and wait for several seconds to switch it off. Wait for a few seconds before switching it on again.

Update Your System Software

Since these error codes are often software-based, either because of data corruption or incompatibility, updating your system software to the newest version might help address the issue.

There are two ways to update your system software. The first is online using the User Interface screen while the second is offline using a USB storage device.

However, the second method should only be done if you weren’t able to complete the update using the first method.

The Bottom Line

Seeing NBA 2K23 error code CE-34878-0 or CE-108255-1 on your PS4 or PS5 console is never a good thing, especially when you’re in the middle of a game. But with the help of the tips above, hopefully, you can get back to your favorite game in no time.
